About Our Anchorage Plumbers

In 1971, Lawrence Embley started a company called Circle Plumbing and Heating, right here in Anchorage, Alaska.

Today the business stands on the same corner of land that their founder homesteaded in 1951. For longtime Alaskans you’ll know the area as the Four Corners, off Raspberry Road. Lawrence, also known as Lee and Granddad, was determined, driven and hard working.

While he did whatever it took to make his customers happy, most remember his laugh, friendship and trust they counted on every time they called Circle.  As a highly skilled plumber, he taught his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren his trade, his work ethic and the importance of making sure every project and job got 100% of their attention and every customer was treated like a family member and dear friend. Read our customer reviews!

We’re a proud Member of:

Those principles still guide the Embley’s as they work hard every day to make their customers happy and their Granddad proud. We hope you will count on us the next time you need plumbing and heating services!

Meet The Owners

Granddad – Lawrence Embley

Founder

Lee was the patriarch and founder of Circle Plumbing and Heating. He learned about plumbing from his Dad when he was just six years old. Lee and his wife Thelma had three children; Joyce, Ken and Tom. Lee taught his children to love their community, the great outdoors and each other. The entire family helped him launch start and grow Circle Plumbing and Heating. When Granddad passed away in 2011 he was cherished by hundreds of friends, his three children, 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Ken Embley

Owner/Master Plumber

Ken graduated from West High School. (Since his graduation, his children and their spouses all graduated from Dimond High School) That is the lone tidbit that sets this family a part. To say Ken is an avid fisherman, hockey lover and hunter is putting it mildly. This expert plumber works hard and also knows how to play hard. Ken is also deeply committed to his church community. Ken is proud Dad to Larry and Kyle and grandkids; Kyla, Ryan, Gracie and Taytum.

Tom Embley

Owner/Master Plumber

Tom holds the fun distinction of being a part of Dimond High’s first graduating class and like the rest of the Embley family a name you know in Anchorage. Tom graduated from Alaska Pacific University. Tom like his brother Ken has been committed to Circle’s mission since their Dad founded the business in 1971. When Tom isn’t working he lives to hunt, fish and follow hockey. Cheering the ACES at the Sully is part of the routine each season. Tom and his wife Connie have three children; TJ, Kendra and Lon. Tom is also proud Grandpa to Gregory and Alexis.

Larry Embley

Owner/Journeyman Plumber
Commercial project manager

Larry graduated from Dimond High School. While Larry made a name for himself on the hockey rink he also quickly left his mark as the next generation of Circle plumbers that were uniquely qualified to handle Alaska’s extreme conditions. If you ever want to hear about an Embley adventure, no doubt hunting and fishing are involved but Larry’s stories also include plumbing in remote Alaska with temperatures well below zero or a homeowner whose heat went out at midnight with standing water. By the way, the stories all have a warm happy ending. Larry married his high school sweet heart, Heidi and they have two children, Ryan and Gracie.

TJ Embley

Owner/Journeyman Plumber
Commercial department

TJ graduated from Dimond High School attending the same years as his cousins Larry and Kyle.

Like all the plumbers in the family, TJ was specially trained and educated after high school to work as a key plumber on the team on both residential and commercial sites. TJ spends a lot of time making the Circle team proud but like the rest of the Embley’s, TJ will never turn down an opportunity to play hockey, cheer on the ACES or fish and hunt. A fun fact about TJ? He played Junior’s in the lower 48. TJ is also a licensed pilot and fishing and hunting guide. TJ is married to Jamie.

Kyle Embley

Owner/Journeyman Plumber
Commercial department

Kyle graduated from Dimond High School. Kyle had the Embley genes and quickly became a standout athlete.

The diligence, hard work and commitment became useful traits when he joined the family business as a plumber. Kyle works hard every day alongside his Dad, brothers, cousins, Uncle and Aunt. Like the rest of the gang, Kyle lives to hunt, snow machine, fish and of course play hockey! Kyle even referees the game.

He is married to his high school sweetheart, Jessie and they have two daughters, Kyla and Taytum.
